Travel (11U–18U)
For players born 2012–2005.
With over 20 years in the community, Magic SC is committed to providing its competitive players with the finest developmental opportunities in the area. This is achieved by offering a comprehensive player development program, divided into two stages.
- Youth (11U–14U)
At this stage of player development, players build upon the fundamentals learned in the Academy Program. During these “golden years of learning,” players achieve advanced competency in basic techniques and this platform allows for the introduction of more sophisticated skills. Enhanced tactical principles of attacking and defending are also developed.
All Magic SC Youth teams are coached by licensed, paid staff. Our travel teams train three times per week during the fall and spring, and once per week over the winter. Supplemental Training opportunities are available throughout the year.
Teams are formed, after a tryout, by grouping players of similar ability together. Teams are then placed in divisions in accordance with the level of talent on the team. The goal of this structure is to maximize player development by ensuring the players are in suitably challenging environments.
Travel is normally within northern Indiana. More advanced teams may travel farther.
For information on the schedule, see our Schedule and Commitment page.
- High School (15U–18U)
At this stage, the aim is to support the continued development of our 15U–18U aged players, whether that means preparing them for college play or simply helping them to become better high school players. In addition to proficiency at a wide range of skills, a more sophisticated tactical understanding becomes important.
All Magic SC High School teams are coached by licensed, paid staff. Our HS teams train three times per week during the fall and spring, and once per week over the winter. Supplemental Training opportunities are available throughout the year.

Travel for these ages varies depending on the division within which the team plays.

What leagues do Magic teams play in?
Magic SC has teams that play in the top leagues within US Youth Soccer.
National League
The US Youth Soccer National League competition is for the nation’s top teams in the 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, 18U, and 19U age groups. The 14U – 18U divisions consist of up to 32 teams per gender age group, while 19U age groups feature up to 16 teams for each gender. The National League offers additional exposure to collegiate, professional, and US National Team coaches and offers the highest level of competition in the country as each team must earn their place in the league through promotion from the top division of their state league.
Indiana League
Teams not in the National League will compete in the Indiana Soccer League (ISL). ISL is a tiered league system, with multiple levels of play. Having multiple levels of play allows for promotion and relegation. This enable teams to move up or down divisions based upon performance and promotes a more even level of competition within each division, which leads to more meaningful games.
